Based on popular demand, this course is being re-run for the Fall Semester. In today’s society, there is no identity that is more controversial than that of the modern Muslim woman. Media, culture, and the Western World all attempt to define women through their own lenses. But what does it really mean to be a Muslim woman? In this 14 week course, we’ll address these challenges by exploring the lives of prolific female scholars, leaders, and thinkers of the past. By examining their stories, we hope to inspire other women to benefit their communities in a similar manner. To make this class more relevant, students will have the opportunity to submit their own questions and concerns before class to help shape the discussion at hand. Join us this summer to be inspired by the legacy of these women, as we strive to become better Muslims ourselves. Tuition: $10 enrollment fee. Monthly tuition of $40. Sibling discount of 20%. These misconceptions continue to plague Muslim women, from assumptions about their rights to questions about their place in society. Join us as we take an in-depth look into the topics that confront our sisters as they traverse the workplace, universities, and their very own communities. Covering topics such as marriage and divorce rights to questions about traveling, hijab, and more, by the end of this 14-week course, we hope to equip students with the resources they need to not only dispel these misconceptions but strengthen their own faith in the process.
